Assanka: Every Possibility

About Us

Company Profile

Today, software is responsible for maintaining the basic functioning of the entire western world. Hundreds of times every day we are helped along our way by software - by mobile phones, online banking, e-commerce, cashpoint machines, websites and iPods. The development process must be refined to the point at which the software can be trusted to do its job, unfailingly, day-in, day-out, until it can simply be taken for granted that it will always work. Despite this, many software projects fail today for the same reasons that they have always failed, and when a project does complete on time, on budget, and does what it was designed for, it actually provokes surprise.

We're a software company that surprises our clients every day.

We're a company dedicated to producing innovative and relevant software to help our clients grow and adapt to their environments and markets. We were founded in March 2003 and have continued to prove that as a small company with an abundance of specialist knowledge, we can deliver software faster, better and with an unmatchable ROI.

Clarity, Accessibility, Connectivity: Our core values

We appreciate that the place where human meets technology is often a battleground. The very best software can fail simply because no-one can use it, or it never gets developed in the first place because clients and developers do not speak each other's language. We speak your language, and we value our ability to communicate clearly in all aspects of our job.

Equally, we understand the needs of users can be quite substantially different from the stereotypical 'user' that may be in the mind of many developers. We are able to go about designing our software with an inclusive approach, unencumbered by prejudice, that takes into account the needs of the non-typical user, whether their handicap is personal (the colour blind, dyslexic, physically disabled, computer illiterate), technological (slow connections, unreliable power supplies, small screens) or geographical (language, currency, number and date formats, cultural differences). When you consider your user base and the availability of your application, some degree of accessibility is almost always sensible, and in some cases it may be a legal requirement.

Finally, these days no computer is useful in and of itself. The usefulness of a system comes from the interconnection of its many disparate parts into a complete whole that can then perform the tasks required of it. The more connections that can be made, the more useful a system becomes. We believe in integrating our software with existing systems as far as possible, and indeed building our software to enable future systems to integrate with ours. With data flowing freely between systems, we can achieve higher efficiency, greater user acceptance of the system, and ultimately a better product.

On time, on budget: Guaranteed

The software industry has a terrible reputation for going overbudget and missing deadlines, only some of it deserved. We are so confident of our project planning that we can guarantee delivery of a specification to a budget and a deadline.

Professionally certified engineers

We are the first software company in the UK to achieve Zend-certification for all our PHP developers, and we currently employ one in seven of the UK's certified developers. This gives you the confidence of knowing that our skills have been independently verified by Zend, the company that created PHP.

We continue to have an active certification programme, and expect to add more qualifications later in the year.
